Hi, I'm Emily Joe and I'm Mallory. We're audiologists at the Children's Hospital Pittsburgh. Did you know we were just ranked in the top 10 nationally by US News and World Report. Come on in and we'll show you around.
The view from Children's is pretty great. We see children here from birth through early adulthood. As the largest Children's Hospital in the region, we see children from Western Pennsylvania, Central Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is over 100 years old. Our current location moved from Oakland to Lawrenceville in 2009. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is also close to downtown Pittsburgh, which offers a variety of museums, theaters and great sports teams. Children's Hospital Pittsburgh is also located near Pitt's main campus and allows access via UPMC shuttle. There are three other outpatient satellite locations offered in the Pittsburgh suburbs that have audiologists and students at all locations.
A bright and friendly waiting room connects many of the outpatient services at the state of the art facility. We provide care in the alligator pod on the third floor. In addition to consulting and evaluating patients throughout the hospital.
We've been pre testing for children of all ages and developmental statuses. Our close access to outpatient clinics allows for interdisciplinary collaboration with all of these different services. This includes speech, ENT, congenital ear, cleft cranial facial and then neuro development in rare diseases clinics.
We provide auditory brainstem response testing for young babies with various sedation options for older children if needed. We also test infants at the Children's Hospital Pittsburgh Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and we also oversee newborns locally at several UPMC birthing hospitals throughout Pennsylvania.
Outside of the basic audiological test battery, we also provide other services here at Children's, such as auditory processing evaluations and misophonia hyperacusis, and tinnitus management. Now let's take a look inside one of our sound booths.
Students leave our facility prepared to complete a variety of test techniques. This includes conventional audiometry, condition play audiometry, and visual reinforcement audiometry.
We work with a variety of brand new manufactures as well as implants for devices. We have robust baja and cochlear implant programs. Part of our services include sending audiologists, to Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.
Bye, we hope to see you here.
